FIFTH GRADE INSTRUCTOR
B.A. in Bible and Educational Ministry, Moody Bible Institute
I’m excited to join Caritas and partner with families in their children’s classical Christian education. I have been classically homeschooling my children for more than ten years. We have been members of Classical Conversations, where I’ve had the joy of tutoring classes of various levels.
I stumbled upon my love for teaching accidentally. While pursuing an interest in linguistics, I joined a language survey team with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Indonesia. I was called upon to write a curriculum for a children’s orientation program to help new missionary families adjust. I found great joy in developing and teaching the program, then training others to lead it, too. When I later returned to Chicago, I changed my major to educational ministry. Since then, I have been a private tutor, taught preschool, directed children’s ministries, and worked in children’s educational publishing. I have authored multiple children's books, including titles that have been featured in Chick-fil-A kids' meals! I enjoy teaching all subjects, and I’m especially nerdy about English grammar and literature.
My husband, Eric, and I have been married for eighteen years. Our five children range from ages 10–16 and include biological and adopted children, special needs, physical disabilities, and gifted learners. I learn from them daily! We are members of The Source Church in Mesa, where Eric is the pastor. My personal hobbies include reading, painting, and gardening.
