THIRD GRADE INSTRUCTOR

Associate in Applied Sciences in Medical Assisting, Central Arizona College

I have had a career in medical assisting, with an emphasis in women’s health. It was a blessing to serve women–especially the ones expecting babies. The Lord blessed me in so many ways during my time in medicine. He has since presented me the opportunity to hang up my scrubs and stethoscope and serve at Caritas. I have always appreciated the classical Christian education’s emphasis on God’s truth being the cornerstone to what is true, beautiful, and good. I am a life-long learner, and enjoy the thrill of learning more about who God is and about His world. My desire is to inspire children to have the same passion for learning. I have experience teaching a phonics intervention program at Logos Christian Academy in Casa Grande, and have taught youth Sunday school at our local church for many years.

Fifteen years ago, I married Matthew and we have one 12 year old son, Waylon, and one cat, Gunter. We have attended Desert Palms PCA for the past 11 years. Matthew and I both serve in Christian education at Desert Palms. In my leisure time you would find me reading anything from the Bible, Christian literature (I particularly appreciate John Bunyan’s Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners), fiction (Jane Austen comes to mind), and even children’s fiction (currently reading The Wingfeather Saga) I also unwind by watching old Bob Ross painting videos, cross-stitching, and listening to music, especially Keith Green.
